Moto G5S Plus specs leaked, premium design & dual cameras
A leaked roadmap of Motorola's upcoming smartphones back in May revealed details of new versions of Moto G5 & G5 Plus with improved design and camera specs. The follow up models are called Moto G5S & G5S Plus. We already know the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus will have 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch display respectively, and the Moto G5S Plus will sport dual-camera setup.
Now Evan Blass is revealing the rest of the details of the bigger Moto G5S Plus. He also shared a render of of the device, giving us its first clear look. Design-wise, it looks similar to Moto G5, but gets some tweaks. The body is premium looking and is made of anodized aluminum with the antenna line visible at the back. It also gets bigger display, dual-cameras, and includes the usual front mounted fingerprint scanner.
As mentioned earlier, the Moto G5S Plus will be an upgraded version of Moto G5 Plus. It will have 5.5-inch screen, instead of Moto G5 Plus' 5.2-inch, however, the screen resolution will remain the same at Full HD (1920 x 1080).
The key hardware like processor, storage and RAM will also be unchanged. The Moto G5S plus will be equipped with Qualcomm's 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The major upgrade when compared with Moto G5 Plus, is the device's imaging capabilities. By comparison, the Moto G5 Plus had a single 13MP main camera and 5MP selfie camera.
The Moto G5S Plus will have two 13MP sensors (one color, one black-and-white), and will offer features like capturing depth information for bokeh effect, background replacement, and make select part of photo black-and-white. The upcoming Moto Z2/Z2 Force will also have dual-camera. For selfies it will offer 8MP shooter.
Motorola has scheduled July 25 event in New York City, where it is expected to unveil the Moto Z2 Force and Moto X4. With the Moto G5S Plus leak surfacing, it can be expected the device will be presented as well.
