Moto Z2 Force official press render surface
Motorola is the only smartphone manufacturer in 2017 who is yet to announce a high-end flagship smartphone. Instead the brand has been targeting the affordable and mid-range market with offerings like Moto G5/G5 Plus, Moto C/C Plus, Moto Z2 Play and Moto E4/E4 Plus.
That said, the Moto Z2 will be the company's first flagship of 2017, and is expected to be officially introduced anytime soon. It was rumored to launch last month, but that did not happen. However, now Evan Blass has shared a press render of The Moto Z2 Force that will be launched by AT&T in the US, although it is also expected to be available through, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint.
As seen in the render, the Moto Z2 Force will have a slight design change at the back, with the addition of dual-cameras, compared to Moto Z. The 16-pin connector for the Moto Mods stays at the same place. On the front it has a physical home button, which will house the fingerprint sensor, the front facing camera and dual-tone LED flash. Overall the design resembles to that of the Moto Z2 Play.
Unfortunately, similar to the predecessor Moto Z, the Moto Z2 will not have 3.5mm audio jack, instead use USB Type-C port for audio output.
The Moto Z2 Force is a variant of Moto Z2, but comes with a ShatterShield display, making the device rugged and drop-proof. Both are likely to have the same design and specifications.
Speaking of specs, they are no secret thanks to various benchmark with the exception of battery capacity. The Moto Z2/Z2 Force is most likely to feature 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, dual 12MP cameras, 5MP front facing camera, fingerprint scanner, NFC, WiFi 802.11ac, USB Type-C and Bluetooth 5.0. The battery capacity could be between 3000mAh and 3500mAh. It will ship with Android 7.1.1 and support both dual-SIM and expandable storage.
