Nokia 5, Nokia 6 will be available in India by mid-August: HMD Global
HMD Global last month launched the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones in India. The Nokia 3 is already available for purchase in the country, while the pre-bookings of the Nokia 5 recently kicked off (July 7) and the Nokia 6 pre-orders open July 14 online exclusively on Amazon India. But don't expect these phones to hit the stores this month.
HMD Global has announced that Nokia 5 will go on sale in the country by mid-August. The company also plans to sell the Nokia 6 as well around that time.
It seems that the overwhelming demand of Nokia 3 has caused the delay in the production of Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. The new Nokia Android smartphones are being manufactured in the country by Foxconn.
“We are humbled by the response to Nokia 3. Currently, we are ramping up our production for Nokia 3 on priority to meet the existing consumer demand. In the coming week, we will start production of Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 to get them ready for sales start by mid-August,” said HMD Global to The Indian Express.
The Nokia 3 has been priced at Rs. 9,499, and is already available in the country for purchase, while the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 costs Rs. 12,899 and Rs. 14,999 respectively.
HMD Global has already announced a new of over 400 distributors to support its new range of Nokia devices. This network will help HMD's new Nokia device to be made available at more than 80,000 retail outlets across the country.
