Acer's new Chromebook 15 boasts aluminum design and up to 12 hours of battery life
Acer is refreshing its Chromebook 15 in terms of hardware and build quality. The new Chromebook sports an aluminum design and is thinner and lighter than the previous model. It measures 378 W x 256 D x 18.9 H mm (14.88 W x 10.08 D x 0.74 H inches) and weighs 1.72 kg (3.79 pounds).
The Acer Chromebook 15 has 15.6-inch Full HD display, and comes with the option of touch screen (CB515-1HT) or non-touch (CB515-1H). It can be configured with the latest "dual-core Intel Celeron and quad-core Intel Pentium processor", with 4GB or 8GB RAM, and 32GB or 64GB storage.
Connectivity options are WiFi 802.11ac featuring 2x2 MIMO technology, Bluetooth 4.2, 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C ports, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, and HDMI port, a headphone/speaker combo jack and SD card reader.
Other features include upward facing speakers surrounding the keyboard, support for Android apps via Google Play Store, HD Webcam w/ wide 88-degree field of view, full sized keyboard & large touchpad and up to 12 hours of battery life.
The Acer Chromebook price starts at $399 in North America, and €499 in EMEA, and will be available sometime in October.
