Google's Pixel 2 phones reportedly coming on October 5, Snapdragon 836 in tow
Every year, Google announces its devices in October and this time it is no different. Last year, Google unveiled the Pixel phones on October 6, and according to Evan Blass this years Pixel 2 line up (Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL) will be introduced on October 5.
Blass further mentioned that Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 will utilize a tweaked version of Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform called Snapdragon 836 chip.
A recent FCC filing has confirmed that the smaller Pixel 2 will be manufactured by HTC, while LG is expected to build the larger Pixel XL 2. Both the Pixel 2 phone will have an unique feature.
The Pixel 2 is expected to feature 4.97-inch Full HD OLED display, and include HTC U11 like-squeezable frame. Sadly there's no headphone jack, but gets front-facing stereo speakers.
While the smaller Pixel 2 have thick bezels on top and bottom, the larger Pixel 2 XL will have a near bezel-less design, similar to Galaxy S8/S8+ and LG G6. It is expected to feature 5.99-inch QHD OLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
Apart from Pixel 2 device, Google is rumored to announce a pair of headphone with Google Assistant built-in, a new Chromebook Pixel convertible, and Amazon Echo Dot like smaller Google Home speaker.
