Latest OnePlus 3 & 3T Open Beta brings parallel apps feature

OnePlus is among the few device makers that regularly pushes software updates for its smartphones. It has been providing regular beta updates to OnePlus 3 and 3T.

Building on the previous beta release, the company is now rolling out new OxygenOS open betas for its last year's flagship. The OxygenOS Beta 21 for OnePlus 3 and OxygenOS beta 12 for OnePlus 3T brings one new interesting feature called Parallel apps; updates the launcher, Gallery and File Manager app. 

With parellel apps features, you will be able to run a parallel version of the same app using a separate account. Currently this feature will be supported by Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and Instagram (and a few other popular apps). 

The updated launcher gets an optimized home screen folder icon, redesigned UI for folder, and support for double finger slide, while Gallery app gets support for light theme and opening RAW format images.

The update also includes optimizations to call histories and fixes a bug that increased battery consumption after connecting to a Bluetooth device.

New addition：

• Parallel apps:
  • All new parallel apps feature that lets you run a parallel version of the same app using a separate account. Right now this supports Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, and Instagram (and a few more popular apps)

Updates：

• Updated to Launcher V2.1.5 ：
  • Optimized home screen folder icon, with a preview look of first 4 icons in the folder
  • Redesigned UI for folders, allowing switch between folders by swiping left or right
  • Added double finger slide support, you can now slide the home screen with one finger while using another to hold an item
• Updated to Gallery V1.8
  • Supports light theme
  • Supports opening RAW format images
• Updated File Manager to V1.7.1
  • Long pressing search items now shows edit operations

Optimizations:

• Call histories from the same person will now be merged

Bug Fixes：

• Fixed increased battery consumption after connecting to a Bluetooth device

The latest OxygenOS beta build's update size is around 75MB. As usual, if your OnePlus 3/3T device is on a previous beta ROM, the update will be rolled out OTA, otherwise, you'll have to apply the latest betas manually by downloading the it from downloads.oneplus.net (OnePlus 3 | OnePlus 3T).
