Nokia 5 & 6 Are Receiving The August Security Patch Update

One of the perks of buying a Nokia mid-range smartphone is updates. The budget trio of Nokia handsets, which were recently released in India, have been assured of monthly security patches by HMD Global. The three phones have also been assured of an Android O update.

The August 1 security patch is currently being seeded to the Nokia 5 & 6. The Nokia 3 is expected to receive the August patch along with the Nougat 7.1.1 update which is slated to be rolled out by the end of the month. The Nokia 3 is currently running Android 7.0 while the Nokia 5 & 6 are based on Nougat 7.1.1.

The update size is 120.2MB. Since OTA rollouts are phased, it may take a while for the update notification to reach your device. You can check for the update manually by heading over to Settings > About phone > System updates and then pressing on Check for updates.
