OxygenOS 4.5.8 for OnePlus 5 fixes stuttering and battery drain issues
OnePlus recently released OxygenOS 4.5.7 for its flagship, OnePlus 5, that added the ability to record 4K video with EIS. However, the company was forced to halt the update following users complained about gaming stutter issue and battery drain, and OnePlus promised to issue a fresh update to the device soon.
Now OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 4.5.8 to OnePlus 5 to fix the issue. The update brings two fixes: "Fixed occasional stutters when playing games" and "Fixed battery drain for Jio users".
Otherwise, the latest update's change-log is similar to the previous one, and includes Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for 4K video recording, a new OnePlus Slate font and Android security patch level 1 July 2017, along with optimizations and bug fixes for improved performance.
Here's what included in OxygenOS 4.5.8 build
New additions:The update is rolling out over-the-air, and for users with OnePlus 5 running on OxygenOS 4.5.7, the update weighs at 49MB, while those still on OxygenOS 4.5.6, the update size is 310MB. It is a staged rollout, so only a few devices will get the update first, followed by a wider-release. You can check for the update by going to Setting > About Phone.Updates:
