Samsung is on a roll. After rolling out Android Nougat for the two year old Galaxy S5 Neo, the South Korean tech giant has released Nougat to the Galaxy J7 (2016).
The Galaxy J7 (2016) was released last year, and shipped with Android Marshmallow, and the new update will bump the software to Nougat.
The OTA update is currently live in Russia, and comes with the firmware version J710FXXU3BQHA. The update weighs at 970MB and along with native Nougat features and improvements, it also include August security patch. Other regions should also get the update soon.
If you've not yet received the push notification prompting you to download and install the update, go to Settings > About Device > Check for update, and if it's available you'll get the option to download.
To recap the specs, the Galaxy J7 (2016) features 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, 3GB RAM/16GB internal storage, 13MP, 5MP front camera, selfie flash, 4G LTE and 3300mAh battery. It is available in India for around Rs. 10,000.
