The Essential Phone Is Finally (Kinda) Shipping

During launch, Andy Rubin's Essential Phone was promised to be available to customers by the end of June. This promise, however, wasn't kept, with the device availability remaining unknown until recently, when Essential finally confirmed that the device is starting to ship to those who had pre-ordered it.

The bad stuff doesn't stop there, though. Even though the device is shipping, only the black version is available, and the 360-degree camera which was supposed to come with the phone won't be included either. Essential has not published any info regarding when/whether those two products will start being delivered to the impatient customers.

Being a newcomer to the smartphone industry, Essential seems to have overestimated its abilities. Let's hope the white version of the Essential Phone and the highly anticipated 360-degree camera arrive soon. We'll keep you updated.
