Android 7.1.1 Nougat is rolling out to Moto X Play

The 2015's Moto X Play is finally tasting Nougat. To remind you, the phone shipped with Lollipop and last year received upgrade to Marshmallow. Now Motorola has reportedly rolled out Android 7.1.1 Nougat to Moto X Play in Brazil. The update is rolling out over-the-air, and should hit other regions soon. Moto India has already confirmed that Moto X Play will get Android 7.1.1 in India soon.

The update brings native Nougat features like split-screen function, customisable quick settings, rounded icons, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications, app shortcuts, along with latest security patch to the Moto X Play.

Since the device is two years old, Nougat is likely to be the last update for Moto X Play. However, we can expect Motorola to roll out security patches to it.

To recap the specs, the Moto X Play comes with 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage, 21MP/5MP camera, dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, NFC and 3630mAh battery.
