Asus Is Now Rolling Out ZenUI 4.0 To ZenFone 3 Lineup, Oreo Confirmed For Both ZF 3 & 4 Series
When the ZenFone 4 lineup was announced, Asus promised that it would update the ZenFone 3 series (which then had ZenUI 3.0) to ZenUI 4.0. If you don't know, ZenUI is Asus' customised Android skin like MIUI is Xiaomi's Android skin. Asus has now started updating the ZenFone 3 lineup to ZenUI 4.0. The update is currently being rolled out for ZenFone 3 Zoom with more devices to follow soon.
The update being rolled out to ZF 3 Zoom has version number V23.40.97.58. Asus says that the update rollout will take about one week to reach all the ZF 3 Zoom users across the world. In case the update doesn't reach you, you can check for the update manually be heading over to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
The embedded video above gives a glimpse of the features introduced with ZenUI 4.0. The major highlight of the update is reduction in bloatware. With ZenUI 4.0, Asus has stripped down the number of pre-installed applications to 13 from 35 in ZenUI 3.0. It should be mentioned here that the update isn't based on Oreo. Asus has assured that it will be upgrading the entire ZenFone 3 and 4 series to Oreo by the second half of 2018.
