HTC to reportedly launch Android One device
Google's Android One program went mainstream, when Xiaomi launched the dual-camera toting Mi A1 running stock Android. Motorola is also said to be working on a Android One edition of its upper mid-range Moto X4. Now rumor has it that HTC is also gearing up to launch an Android One device.
In July it was reported that HTC is working on a striped down version of flagship U11 called U11 Life, with Edge Sense for "Squeeze" function. Now According to a tweet from @L1abTooFeR, HTC will offer two versions of U11 Life.
One will have Android Nougat with HTC sense UI on top, while the other one will be an Android One version running stock Android 8.0 Oreo. The Android One version of U11 Life will also support Edge Sense function and HTC will also retain some of the apps like USonic, Zoe and HTC Camera. The information was also confirmed by Evan Blass.
The HTC U11 Life is expected to come with 5.2-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 630 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 16MP front and rear camera and 2600mAh battery. Other features expected are fingerprint scanner and IP67 water and dust resistance.
As of now it is not known, when the Android version of Moto X4 and HTC U11 Life will be out, but we can expect Google to share some information about Android One's future at its upcoming Pixel event, which is reportedly scheduled for October 4.
