iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X listed on TENAA: Battery capacity and RAM revealed
Apple's next generation iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus were unveiled alongside the bezel-free iPhone X earlier this month. As usual Apple did not reveal the battery capacity and RAM of these phones. And as usual thanks to certification sites like TENAA we get to know these details.
All the three new iPhones are now listed on TENAA, and reveals the RAM and battery capacity.
- iPhone 8 - 2GB RAM and 1821mAh battery
- iPhone 8 Plus - 3GB RAM and 2675mAh battery
- iPhone X - 3GB RAM and 2716mAh battery
For comparison, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus had slightly bigger 1960mah and 2900mAh battery. Even though the new iPhones pack smaller batteries, Apple promises that they deliver slightly better battery life than previous gen iPhones. That said, amongst the new iPhones, the iPhone X has the highest battery capacity, which is said to be the most powerful and costliest iPhone ever. It also flaunts a bezel-less design.
According to Apple Insider, the extra battery capacity on the new iPhone X is likely for the dual-camera's OIS function, and also required for the TrueDepth depth-sensing camera, the backbone of the new Face ID facial recognition system.
To recap some of the features, the iPhone 8 (4.7-inch), iPhone 8 Plus (5.5-inch) and iPhone X (5.8-inch) feature glass design, wireless charging, quick charging, improved stereo speaker, Apple's new A11 Bionic chip and improved dual-camera (iPhone 8 has single camera).
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are already on sale in select markets. It is currently up for pre-orders in India and hit the shelves on September 29. The iPhone X on the other hand pre-order will open on October 27 globally, and start shipping from November 3.
