MediaTek MT6739 brings 18:9 display, dual camera photography, dual VoLTE for mid to entry-level devices
MediaTek at the ongoing MWC 2017, New Delhi, has announced a new mobile chipset MT6739 designed for mid- to entry-level 4G smartphone. The Taiwan based chip maker says MediaTek MT6739 "delivers a package of superior features for entry-4G smartphone users in India"
The MediaTek MT6739 is a quad-core 64-bit chip with four ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores and operates up to 1.5GHz. The graphics will be handled by IMG PowerVR GE8100 GPU.
The new processor also supports premium smartphone features like dual-camera photography and handle HD+ resolution (1400 x 720 pixels) with 18:9 aspect ratio, allowing smartphone makers to manufacture bezel-less phones. This means both the current trending features will show up on even more affordable smartphones.
It also packs future-proof cellular technology. It features an advanced WorldMode LTE Cat.4 modem, and supports dual VoLTE and Dual SIM Dual Standby with either 4G+4G (L+L) or 4G+3G (L+W).
