Moto X4 To Be Launched In India On October 3, Android One Variant Announced In US
Motorola India has announced that it will be launching the Moto X4 in India on October 3. Motorola has begun sending out media invites for the same. As you can see in the teaser image (which Motorola has been sharing on its social media accounts), there is a swimming pool with two floats aligned next to one another. The two floats are suggestive of the dual camera setup at the back of the X4.

Motorola also recently announced an Android One variant of the X4 for the American market. The X4 Android One will be available exclusively on Project Fi. Project Fi is a wireless service by Google in partnership with the US carriers Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Three. Depending upon signal strength, Project Fi shifts between different partner carriers. The Moto X4 Android One is priced at $399. If you trade in a Nexus smartphone for the X4, you will save up to $165. Google is offering a further discount of $50 in the form of Fi credit if you do the trade in before October 5.
The Moto X4 was originally announced at IFA 2017 in August. The Android One variant of the X4 will run stock Nougat 7.1.2 out of the box. As in the case of the Mi A1, Google has promised that an Oreo upgrade will be available before the year end and the X4 will be one of the first smartphones to taste Android P. There is little difference between the original X4 and it's Android One variant. The original X4 will have a close version of stock Android in addition to the Motorola services such as Moto Voice, Moto Access and attentive display. Both the variants will however feature the useful gestures such as double twisting the phone to launch the camera and shaking twice to turn on the flashlight. The original X4 is priced at €399 (~$470) while the Android One variant on Project Fi will be available for $399.
The Indian market should be getting the original Moto X4 since the Mi A1 Android One was announced recently.
