Nokia 5 Is Getting The September Security Patch Ahead Of Nexus, Pixel & Android One Devices

HMD Global is one of the handful of firms out there in the market which are devoted to monthly security patches. Ever since the Nokia 5 was launched along with its siblings the Nokia 6 and 3, the trio have received monthly security updates and at times ahead of the Nexus, Pixel and Android One devices.

The update size is 142.1MB and the changelog only mentions the bump in the security patch level. Google is expected to release the September patch soon. Google usually releases the monthly patches on the first Monday of the month the security patch is meant for.

The trio of Nokia 3, 5 and 6 are already assured of an Oreo upgrade whilst the Nokia 3 should be getting it's Android 7.1.1 update right now as confirmed by HMD's Juho Sarvikas. The Nougat 7.1.1 update for the Nokia 3 should include the September patch. We will keep you posted as and when we come across the update.
