Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime receiving Android Nougat in India
After Galaxy J7 2016, Samsung is now rolling out Android Nougat to the Galaxy J7 Prime in India. It was originally launched with Android Marshmallow on-board.
The Nougat update is rolling out over-the-air, and bumps the firmware version to G610FDDU1BQH9. The update brings new software UX, improved notifications and quick settings button, multi-window mode, new emoji, improved Doze Mode and more. It also adds Dual Messenger function, that will allow users to setup two separate accounts for the same social networking or instant messaging apps on the device.
Since this is a major upgrade, the download size is 1143.09MB, so make sure you're device is connected to a WiFi network, and have at-least 50 percent of charge and 2GB of free storage space. If you've not been notified about the update yet, you can manually check for it by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.
If you're interested in the specs, the Galaxy J7 Prime features metal body, 5.5-inch Full HD Gorilla Glass 4 display, 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB of expandable storage, 13MP/8MP cameras (rear and front), and 3300mAh battery.
