Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) goes official in Vietnam
Following leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has been officially announced in Vietnam. Earlier it was rumored to be called Galaxy Tab A2 S, but that's not the case anymore. The tablet comes in two models: WiFI only (SM-T830) and WiFi/4G LTE (SM-T385) with voice calling functionality.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) sports 8.9mm thick metal body that weighs 364g, and includes Samsung's signature home button and menu button below the screen, however, there is no fingerprint scanner. It runs Android Nougat, and comes with a a feature called "Home Mode", which displays information like calendar, weather, date and more on the screen when the tablet is charging. You can even personalize the screen with personal photos as well.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) features 8-inch WVGA (1280 x 800 pixels) TFT display and is powered by 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor, backed by Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB RAM. It has 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.
The camera department including a f/1.9 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front facing camera. A 5000mAh battery will run the show, that's rated to deliver up to 14 hours of video playback.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has been priced at Rs. 6490000 Vietnamese Dong ($285) | Rs. 18,230) for the 4G model, and is already available for purchase in Vietnam. It comes in Black and Gold hues.
