Sony Lists Devices Which Will Be Upgraded To Oreo 8.0

Sony has released a list of devices it plans to upgrade to Android's latest version - Oreo 8.0. The following devices will be getting the Oreo update:

• Xperia X
• Xperia X Performance
• Xperia XZ
• Xperia X Compact
• Xperia XZ Premium
• Xperia XZs
• Xperia XA1
• Xperia XA1 Ultra
• Xperia Touch
• Xperia XA1 Plus

Google released Nougat 7.0 on August 22 last year and Oreo 8.0 was released two weeks ago on August 21 (observe the closeness in dates). Sony hasn't specified any timeline for the update but if the timeline of last year's Nougat update rollout is to be repeated (which apparently should be), the update would be popping up in December. 

Oreo brings a lot of features onboard. These include Picture-in-Picture mode, notification badges, autofill, notification channels and much more. You can refer to our blog post here to know more about the features introduced in Oreo 8.0.
