Xiaomi Mi Note 3 with 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 660, dual-cameras gets official

Alongside the bezel-less Mi MIX 2, Xiaomi at its event in China also announced the Mi Note 3. Surprisingly, instead of being a top-end flagship device, like its predecessor, the Mi Note 3 is an upper mid-range smartphone boasting Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6XX Mobile Platform. It ditches the curved display, but does get the dual-camera setup, which was missing on Mi Note 2.

Design-wise the Mi Note 3 looks the exact copy of its flagship Mi 6 with the four-sided curved glass back and aluminum frame, and its fingerprint sensor is embedded into the home button. But it is bigger...... the Mi Note 3 features 5.5-inch Full HD display with slim bezels on the sides. It is equipped with Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform and 6GB RAM, and 64GB/128GB storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

The dual-camera comprises of two 12MP sensor, just like the Mi 6. One of the dual-cameras have wide-angle 27mm lens with 4-axis OIS and f/1.8 aperture, while the other one is a telephoto lens sporting 2X optical zoom, and helps to capture photos in Potrait mode, which keeps the subject in focus and blurs the background. The camera at the front is an 16MP sensor, and supports face recognition, and a feature called Adaptable AI beautify that offers realistic beaurify effects without compromising on quality.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port. It runs Android Nougat based MIUI 9 and is fueled by 3500mAh battery.

The Mi Note 3 comes in Black and Blue color. The Black Mi Note 3 with 6GB RAM/64GB storage has been priced at CNY 2499 ($383 | Rs. 24,500), and with 6GB RAM/128GB costs CNY 2899 ($445 | Rs. 28,400). The Blue Mi Note 3 will be available available only with 6GB RAM/128GB storage, and is priced higher at CNY 2999 ($460 | Rs. 29,400).
