BlackBerry reveals its Motion with IP67 certification
BlackBerry's new phone has finally been unveiled at the GITEX Tech Week in UAE. The phone, rumoured to be a full touch-screen is in fact sporting a full screen display, ditching the QWERTY keyboard of its predecessor the KEYone.
The phone features a 5.5 inch touch screen display. It is powered by a 2Ghz octa-core Snapdragon 625 CPU. It comes in with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internet storage which can be extended to 200GB via microSD card. In the camera department, the Motion sports a 12MP primary camera along with an 8MP selfie shooter. It features dual-sim, IP67 dust and water resistance and USB type C. It is fuelled by a 4000mAh non removable battery. BlackBerry has also decided to retain the headphone jack.
The Motion is built with an aluminium frame and a carbon fibre pattern on the back. The home button on the front bears the BlackBerry logo and also functions as a fingerprint sensor. Some of the other sensors include compass, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor and gyroscope.
The Motion runs on Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box. The phone will supposedly ship first in the middle east. It is priced at approx. 500 euros.
