Nokia 2 at $100 will be the most affordable Nokia Android smartphone: Report
HMD Global, the company responsible for the resurrection of Nokia brand, has a Nokia Android smartphone at every price segment.
In the Rs. 10,000 segment (Redmi Note 4), there's the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5; in the Rs. 15,000 segment (Moto G5S Plus, Mi Max 2) there's the Nokia 6; in the Rs. 30,000 segment (Moto X4, Honor 8 Pro, OnePlus 3T), there's Nokia 7; and finally in the Rs. 40,000 segment (OnePlus 5, Mi MIX 2), there's the Nokia 8.
That being said, HMD is gearing up to launch the most affordable Nokia handset till date: Nokia 2. The phone was previously listed on FCC and Geekbench, revealing key specs. And now it has been spotted on U.S e-tailer B&H Photo Video.
According to listing, which was first spotted by reliable tipster Roland Quandt, the Nokia 2 will cost $100 (Rs. 6,500). This is cheaper than the Nokia 3, which carries a price tag of $160 (Rs. 10,000). At the said price, Nokia 2 will be competing in the Rs. 6000 price segement, up against the likes of Redmi 4.
The listing further further reveals that Nokia 2's model number, that's TA-1035. It will suport dual-SIM, and come in White and Black color. Unfortunately, the online retailer has not published the specs.
However, the FCC filing of Nokia 2 revealed that it will pack a massive 4000mAh battery, while Geekbench listing revealed that it will be equipped with Snapdragon 212 processor, 1GB RAM and run Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
As for the other specs, rumors has it that the Nokia 2 will feature 5-inch HD display, 16GB internal storage (2GB RAM variant also rumored), 8MP/5MP rear & front cameras and 4G VoLTE.
It is still not known, when HMD plans to unveil the Nokia 2, but now that the handset is showing up on major retailers website, an official announcement can be expected soon.
