OxygenOS 4.5.12 For OnePlus 5 Fixes Missing Download Icon In 4.5.11, Includes September Security Patch & More
Just four days back, OnePlus began pushing out the OxygenOS 4.5.11 update to the OnePlus 5 and now the company is rolling out another incremental update to its flagship device in the form of OxygenOS 4.5.12. The update changelog mentions fixes for the download icon which wasn't shown in the app drawer post updating to OOS 4.5.11. The rest of the changelog is similar to that of OOS 4.5.11. The complete list of changes is as follows.
System
- Fixed bug of missing icon of Download app in 4.5.11
- Supports customization of notification ringtone
- Improved launching speed of apps
- Optimized adaptive brightness
- Fixed issue of YouTube video lagging behind audio
- Fixed display issues of some UI elements
- Fixed issue of no 4G+ network in some regions
- Updated Android security patch to September
- General bug fixes
The inclusion of September security patch means that the Blueborne vulnerability has been patched. If exploited, Blueborne allows a hacker to gain unfair access to a Bluetooth enabled device. OnePlus recently delivered patches for Blueborne to the OnePlus 3/3T in recent stable updates and Open Beta builds.
It remains unclear whether the OOS 4.5.11 update has been withdrawn. Some users on the OnePlus forums have reported of receiving the OOS 4.5.12 update over 4.5.10 while others reported of receiving the 4.5.11 update after OnePlus announced the commencement of the 4.5.12 rollout.
The update is being rolled out via OTA in phases. Since this is a phased roll out, the update might take time to reach your device. If you can't afford to wait for the OTA notification, you can try your luck by changing your country to Canada in OperaVPN (some users reported of getting the update notification right after using this method).
