Philips X596 with 16MP front & rear camera, 4000mAh battery announced

Netherlands based electronics company Philips has announced an mid-range smartphone in China dubbed Philips X596, packing decent specs. It sports aviation grade aluminum alloy material body, and has a fingerprint scanner at the back.

The Philips X596 features 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM. It comes in two storage options: 32GB and 64GB, and the storage is expandable via microSD card.

The camera department includes 16MP front and rear camera. The rear camera gets an LED flash, Auto-focus and 1080p video support. It has the usual connectivity suite such as dual-SIM slot, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

It runs Android Nougat, and packs a massive 4000mAh battery that also supports 9V/2A fast charging.

Coming to the pricing, the 32GB Philps X596 has been priced at CNY 1299 ($170 | Rs. Rs. 13,000), and the 64GB variant costs CNY 1499 ($227 | Rs. 15,000). It is currently available for pre-order in China via JD.com and will start shipping from November 5.
