Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime gets Android Nougat in India (update: not India, in UAE)
Update: SamMobile reports that the update is being rolled out in the UAE and not India. It may arrive on imported models in India, but Nougat is yet to be released officially in the the country for the Galaxy J5 Prime.
Last month, the Galaxy J7 Prime tasted Android Nougat in India. And today, Samsung is rolling out Nougat for its smaller sibling, the Galaxy J5 Prime in India. To remind you, the phone launched with Marshmallow, and this is the first major OS upgrade it is being offered.
The software update comes with the size1066.76MB and bumps the firmware version to G570FXXU1BQ16 / G570FOJV1BQ16. The update is rolling out over-the-air in phases, so it might take some time to cover all devices.
Android Nougat for Galaxy J5 Prime brings the following features:
Since this is a major upgrade, make sure you're device is connected to a WiFi network, and have at-least 50 percent of charge and 2GB of free storage space. If you've not been notified about the update yet, you can manually check for it by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.

To recap the specs, the Galaxy J5 Prime features 5-inch HD display, quad-core Exynos 7570 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage, 13MP/5MP rear and front camera, 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM slot, fingerprint scanner and 2400mAh battery.
In related news, the Galaxy J5 Prime and Galaxy J7 Prime 32GB models recently received price cut in India, and are now available for Rs. 12,990 and Rs. 14,990 respsectively from both online and offline channels.
