Xiaomi India opens Mi Home Store in Mumbai
In a bid to expand its offline presence in India, Xiaomi has been opening Mi Home Stores across the country. In Mi Home stores, customers can experience as well as buy Xiaomi products like smartphones, power banks, VR Play headset, accessories, and other ecosystem products launched in the country.
So far Xiaomi has opened such stores across Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Chennai and Hyderabad. And now just in time for festive season, the Chinese device maker has opened Mi Home Store in Mumbai. The store is located at Phoenix Market City mall in Kurla.
The launch of Mi Stores in major cities across the country is part of Xiaomi's strategy to reach the offline customers, so that users who don't have internet access or are not familiar with the brand, can experience and buy Xiaomi products. Xiaomi has already said that it plans to open 100 Mi Home stores across the country in the next two years.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi recently teamed up with India's biggest retail chain, Big Bazaar, which has over 240 stores across the country to sell the popular Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4. It even took a shot at the premium market, with the launch of the bezel-less and powerful Mi MIX 2 for Rs. 35,999.
Xiaomi has risen in popularity this year and almost become a household name in India. It is currently the second best smartphone brand in the country, and there is no doubt in the next two or three quarters it will be on the top.
