Xiaomi India sold more than four million smartphones during festive sale (Sep 20-Oct 19)

It appears that Xiaomi India had a blast this festive season. To remind you, Xiaomi on September 22, 2017 announced that it sold over one million smartphone within 48 hours during the Diwali with Mi festive sale.

And now Xiaomi has announced that it shipped more than four million smartphones in the country during the festive season. The feat was achieved between September 20 and October 19, and includes sales figures from both online and offline platforms.

Xiaomi also claimed that it sold over one million products on its online store Mi.com, and was the number one smartphone brand during Flipkart big billion day and Amazon great Indian sale. During the festive sale, Xiaomi offered several discounts and bundled offers on Amazon and Flipkart on its smartphones and other products. We can safely assume that the popular Redmi 4, Redmi Note 4, and recently launched budget phone Mi A1 were again the best selling phones during the festive season.

The claims does not come as a surprise, as Xiaomi is having a great run in the country this year. Back in August, the company announced that it sold 25 million smartphones in the country ever since it set foot in the country in 2014.

In recent times, Xiaomi has been focusing on offline market to tap the offline audience. It opened a dozens of Mi Home Stores across the country in major cities including Bengaluru, New Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

According to, Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi is inching closer towards taking the top spot in the country. It has a market share of 22.3 percent, marginally behind Samsung, which is on top with market share of 22.8 percent.

The last smartphone launched by Xiaomi in India was the bezel-less Mi Mix 2 for Rs. 35,999. It is Xiaomi's most premium and expensive offering to the Indian market till date.
