Xiaomi Redmi 5A will feature all metal design, MIUI 9, up to eight days standby time
It appears that Xiaomi is all set to launch the successor of the popular Redmi 4 smartphone. Last month the Redmi 5A was spotted on TENAA, and now alleged poster of the device has hit the interweb, that confirms some of the features.
According to the poster, the Redmi 5A will run the latest Anroid Nougat based MIUI 9, will offer up to eight days of standby time and equipped with Snapdragon chip. There will be no change in the design, but the device will be made of metal instead of polycarbonate material. The fingerprint scanner is still missing, but it is likely to be included in the top variant.
As a reminder, the TENAA listing revealed full details of the Redmi 5A, and interestingly, Xiaomi is sticking with the same hardware of Redmi 4, except for the battery and selfie camera.
The Redmi 5A will feature 5-inch HD display, 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB of expandable storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and 3000mAh battery.
In addition to China, the Redmi 5 & 5A will also make its way to European market, according to reliable tipster Roland Quandt. That said, the Redmi 5 will also be launched in India, given Xiaomi's popularity.
In Europe, the Redmi 5A will be available with 16GB internal storage in Black, Gray, Gold and Rose/Gold colors. The Redmi 5 will be offered with the option of 16GB and 32GB storage, in Black or Gold colors. There's also Redmi 5 Plus that will come in 32GB/64GB storage options in Black, Gray and Gold colors.
Unfortunately a release date is not known.
