Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with 18:9 display spotted on TENAA
Xiaomi recently launched the affordable Redmi 5A in China, which is the successor of the popular Redmi 4. Now the Chinese device maker is all set to unveil the successor of another of its super popular device, Redmi Note 4. That's because, a Xiaomi smartphone with model number MET7 believed to be Redmi Note 5 has been spotted on TENAA, revealing its design.
As seen in the render, the Redmi Note 5 sports a metal unibody design, and a fingerprint scanner at the back. On the front, the display takes most of the space of the front panel, but there are still thick bezels on all sides.
This will be Xiaomi's first budget smartphone to come with such a design, and the display is likely to have an aspect ratio of 18:9. That said, there are no navigation keys on the lower chin, and it is larger than other smartphones with 18:9 display. The upper chin is also slightly larger and houses two selfie cameras.
Unfortunately, TENAA has not listed the specification of Redmi Note 5, but according to reports, it will feature 5.5-inch Full HD+ display, Snapdragon 630 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB storage, 12MP/16MP cameras and 4000mAh battery. It is expected to come in Champagne Gold, Black, Rose Gold and Platinum Silver color.
Rumors also has it that the Redmi Note 5 will arrive with additional variants: Redmi Note 5 Pro/Plus. This phone is said to have near-bezel less design and 12MP/5MP cameras.
The Redmi Note 5 line up is expected to announced in mid-November. To remind you, back in August Xiaomi unveiled an entry-level Redmi Note 5 model called Redmi Note 5A.
