Essential PH-1 Is Getting A New Update With November Security Patch & Fingerprint Gesture Fixes

When Andy Rubin's Essential Products announced the PH-1, they told us that they are committed to rolling out monthly security updates to the PH-1. So far the company has kept it's word and has been rolling out frequent updates to iron out bugs and improve the widely criticized camera performance. Essential has now announced another update for the PH-1.

The new update comprises of the latest November patches (which Google released two days ago) and includes a fix for fingerprint gesture actions. The official changelog is as follows:

Changes include:
  • Google Security Patches 2017-11
  • Fix for Fingerprint Gesture Related Instabilities

Essential has already patched the PH-1 with Blueborne and KRACK fixes. The update weighs 57.4MB and carries the build number NMJ32F. The update is rolling out via OTA. Since OTA updates are rolled out in batches, it may take some time for the update to show up on your device. If you aren't willing to wait for the update, you can flash the update manually by downloading the update file from here.
