Galaxy C9 Pro Is Now Being Updated To Nougat 7.1.1 In India
Samsung has started rolling out Nougat 7.1.1 based Experience 8.5 to the C9 Pro users in India. If you aren't aware, Samsung's Experience user interface is a customised Android skin like Xiaomi's MIUI. 'Experience' was previously known as TouchWiz.
This new update for C9 Pro includes several Nougat 7.1.1 goodies like app shortcuts, enhanced notifications controls, improved data saver mode and better battery life courtesy of Doze mode. Doze puts an Android device into a low powered state when the device is idle. Doze mode was introduced in Marshmallow 6.0 but for a device to enter Doze it had to be kept stationary for a minimum period of thirty minutes. The problem with the stationary restriction was that a device wouldn't slip into Doze if it was in the pocket or purse of a moving person. With Nougat, Google discarded the stationary check altogether. In Nougat, it isn't necessary for an idle device to be stationary to enter Doze. This enhancement to Doze minimises battery drain.
Experience 8.5 also includes Samsung Cloud, a redesigned Device Manager, a theme store and shutter button zooming for the camera. The update comprises of the October security patch. Since this is an OTA update, it might take some time to reach your device. You will get an update notification once the OTA update is available for your device.
