New OxygenOS Open Beta For OnePlus 3/3T Brings October Security Patch, Revamped DND UI & More
OnePlus plans to upgrade its 2016 flagship duo of 3 & 3T to Oreo by the end of the year. In its quest to do so, OnePlus has been regularly releasing Oreo based OxygenOS Open Beta builds for the two devices. The beta OxygenOS builds allow OnePlus to collaborate with the community to improve OxygenOS. OnePlus has now released the third Oreo based OxygenOS Open Beta build for the 3 and 3T.
Here is the changelog for this build:
- New UI for Do Not Disturb
- Optimized standby battery usage
- Smart Text Selection improvements
- General performance improvements
- Updated OnePlus and GMS applications
- Updated Google security patch (October 2017)
- Other bug fixes and optimizations
OnePlus claims to have made "Do Not Disturb easier to understand" with the new user interface. This Open Beta build also includes updates to the gallery, weather, file manager and recorder application. Additionally, there are "updates to language localization, fixes for extended screenshot in some applications, Bluetooth performance enhancements, camera gesture fixes, and memory optimizations."
If you have a OnePlus 3/3T, you can try out the Open Beta build by referring to the download links below. Unlike the Android Beta program by Google, you don't have to register anywhere to hop on the Open Beta program. Once you have flashed an Open Beta build, you will receive OTA updates to future OxygenOS beta builds. Likewise, if you are already using an Open Beta build, you will soon be getting an OTA notification of this build.
