Google has also made some UI changes with the update in order to extend the life of the OLED display. This update has also faded the navigation button on Pixel and Pixel 2 XL, to reduce the screen burn-in issue, as the navigation buttons are virtually always on. In addition, the update also lowers the maximum brightness by 50 nits, and according to Google, the difference is "virtually imperceptible"
The November update will be rolling out to Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL in the coming weeks. Google also said that with the December software update it will bring more enhancements for the Pixel 2 line.
