Puffin Browser Is Now Available In Beta For Windows
CloudMosa, the company behind Puffin, has released a beta version of its web browser for Windows users. A video on Puffin's website showcases that that the web browser is several times faster than Microsoft's Edge browser. If you are interested in trying out Puffin on a Windows PC, you can download it from here. The web browser is compatible with Windows 7 and 10.
As mentioned earlier, several users are concerned about their privacy when using Puffin. Puffin is a cloud based browser which downloads web pages on to its servers, compresses them and then sends them over to the user's device. Doubts have been expressed in the way Puffin handles the data it downloads on its servers. In its defense, Puffin says that "all traffic from Puffin app to Puffin server are encrypted" and "once a client disconnects, its session will be deleted and its files will be removed." If you are concerned about how Puffin uses the data on its servers, I would recommend you to give their privacy policy a read. I'm not bothered by the privacy concerns surrounding Puffin because I only use it for reading web articles and streaming media content. Since there isn't any use of sensitive information, I'm not concerned about how Puffin utilizes my data.
