Samsung outs second Oreo beta firmware for Galaxy S8 & S8+

Earlier this month Samsung kicked off Android Oreo beta testing for Galaxy S8/S8+ in the U.S, U.K and South Korea. The first beta firmware included Samsung's latest Experience 9.0 user interface beta, along with Samsung-related customization, native Oreo features and improvements.

Now one week later the South Korean tech giant has released the second Oreo beta firmware for the Galaxy S8/S8+.

According to the change-log, the second Oreo beta firmware brings October security patch, and improves stability of the Launcher and DeX mode. It also adds new clock styles for the lock screen and Always On Display. Users can now adjust the transparency of notifications to get their desired look, while the Smart View functions gets smarter, allowing the phone's screen to go dark when mirroring contents between the phone and TV.

Also, there's couple of bug fixes as well, which was discovered in the previous beta build. The update weighs in at 610MB.

Samsung is yet to confirm when the second phase of beta program will go live. This will allow Galaxy S8/S8+ users from India, Germany, Spain, France, Poland and China to test Android Oreo beta on their device.

As for the stable public release, Samsung is expected to roll out Oreo in early 2018.
