LG rolls out official Oreo update for the V30
After a month of beta testing, LG has finally pushed official Oreo update to the V30. To remind you, the phone was launched with Android Nougat 7.1.2 on-board, and now users in South Korea are getting Oreo.
According to LG, Oreo update will optimize the software for smooth experience, faster boot times and minimize power and battery consumption. The update will also include native Oreo features like PiP mode (Picture in Picture), allowing users to watch videos and support wider variety of high-quality Bluetooth audio codecs such as LDAC codec. Other Oreo goodies like notification channels, adaptive icons, notification dots, smart text selection and Autofill will also be part of the update.
The Oreo update weighs in at 1.4GB and is being rolled out over-the-air. Users will be automatically notified about the update. They can also use LG Bridge software to upgrade manually using PC. As for the other market, Oreo will be out in early 2018.
To recap the specs, the LG V30 features 6-inch QHD+ display with very slim bezels and 18:9 aspect ratio screen, Snapdragon 835 chip, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, 16MP f/1.6 + 13MP 120-degree wide angle cameras at the back, 5MP selfie camera, fingerprint scanner and 3300mAh battery. It also has face unlock support, IP68 water and dust resistance, MIL-STD 810G rating for durability, HiFi Quad DAC, Quick Charge 3.0 and wireless charging.
LG launched the LG V30+ in India, which offers more storage capacity of 128GB. It is available exclusively on Amazon India for Rs. 44,990.
