Micromax Bharat 5 with 5000mAh battery launched for Rs. 4,999
Home-bred device maker Micromax is expanding its popular affordable Bharat line up with the addition of Bharat 5. The dual-SIM phone runs Android Nougat and supports 4G VoLTE out of the box.
The main highlight of Bharat 5 is its battery capacity of 5000mAh that promises up to 27 hours of talk time and up to 500 hours of standby time. It also supports reverse charging function, allowing the handset to double as power bank and charge other devices via USB OTG.
As for the other specs, the Bharat 5 features 5.2-inch HD IPS display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded via the dedicated microSD card slot.
It ships with 5MP rear and front cameras, both assisted by an LED flash and also support WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally Vodafone is offering 50GB (5 months x 10GB) of free data with Bharat 5 as part of launch offer.
Micromax Bharat 5 has been priced at Rs. 5,555, and will be available via offline mobile stores across India in Black color. The phone will be competing with Xiaomi's newly launched Redmi 5A, which also has a price tag of Rs. 4,999 (for the first five million units).
Micromax aims to sell over six million units of the Bharat by March 2018. It also plans to launch Bharat 5 Pro and Bharat 5 Plus early next year.
