Moto X4 Android One Edition gets Android Oreo
Motorola has released Android Oreo for the Android One edition of Moto X4 in the U.S. Just yesterday the company rolled out Oreo for Moto Z2 Force.
To remind you, the Moto X4 was launched in two variants: an Android One Edition with stock Android, and the other a regular version with Motorola software enhancements. Both shipped with Android Nougat and Oreo was promised by Motorola by the end of this year.
As mentioned earlier Oreo is now out for Moto X4 Android One Edition, and arrives as the build number OPW27.1 with Oreo treats like Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode, notification channels, adaptive icons, notifications dots, smart text selection and more. It also brings Android December 2017 security patch.
Since Oreo is a major software upgrade, make sure your Moto X4 is connected to a WiFi network and has atleast 70 percent charge and 3GB free storage space.
The update is being rolled out over-the-air, and you'll be automatically notified when it is available for your device. You can also do a manual check by going to Settings >> About Phone >> System update to get it.
