Second Oreo 8.0 Based OxygenOS Open Beta For OnePlus 5 Brings November Security Patch & Bug Fixes

OnePlus may not be supporting its devices with Project Treble but that hasn't changed the way the company handles updates. OnePlus is still releasing updates regularly for its devices. It's only been three weeks since OnePlus released the first Open Beta for the OnePlus 5 and now there is a new beta build available.

This Open Beta is mostly about bug fixes and improvements. The changelog is present below:

Launcher

• Fixed widget issues
• Fixed shortcut issues

Camera

• UI improvements

File Manager

• Added f4v format in video category
• Speed improvements while deleting massive files

System

• Improvements for Reading Mode
• Improvements for vibration
• Improvements for Bluetooth audio
• Fixed Parallel Apps bugs
• Fixed reboot issue when using Picture in Picture
• Updated Android security patch to November
• General bug fixes and stability improvements

If you are running the first Open Beta, you will be getting an update notification for this build soon. If you wish to hop on over to the beta channel, you can flash the ROM using the links given at the end of this article.

After switching to the beta channel, you won't be getting any of the stable updates. You will be getting an update notification only when a new beta build is released. Reverting back to the stable builds will require a complete wipe which will clear away all the applications along with their data.
