DJI intros Osmo Mobile 2 handheld smartphone camera stabilizer
Popular drone maker DJI at the ongoing CES 2018 in Las Vegas has introduced Osmo Mobile 2, a handheld camera stabilizer designed specifically for smartphones.
Like its predecessor, the Osmo Mobile 2 sports a light weight design and feature three-axis gimbal technology, but now offers 3x more battery life and carries an affordable price tag. The stabilizer weighs 485g and measures 295 x 113 x 72mm. The three axis gimbal cancels out movement in three direction so that the video stays steady even if your hands shake.
The stabilizer also features DJI's SmoothTrack technology, which detects and compensates for your movement of the camera to ensure a smooth cinematic sound. It is equipped with two way clamps to make it easier to switch between landscape and portrait orientation.
It packs a battery that promises up to 15 hours of battery life and pairs to the smartphone via Bluetooth 4.0. It also includes dedicated button for shutter speed and ISO controls, as well as a new built-in zoom slider.
The DJI Osmo Mobile 2 has been priced at $129 and will be available for pre-order at Apple.com on January 23, 2018, while shipping begin in February. Additionally in early February the stabilizer will be available from dji.com, DJI flasgship stores and DJI authorized retailer. It will get a world-wide release in late-February via Apple Stores.
