Sony Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, L2 surface in renders
Renders of Sony's upcoming mid-rangers - Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra and Xperia L2 - have been leaked courtesy of Evan Blass.
As seen in the leaked renders, these new phones will stick with Sony's traditional design i.e OmniBalance design, instead of the modern design, wherein the bezels are trimmed. Earlier this year, Sony said that its 2018 phones will feature bezel-less design, but now it appears that the company will use this design on high-end flagships.
However there is one visible change in the design. Unlike previous Xperia devices, where the fingerprint scanner was embedded into the power button on the side, the new Xperia phones will have rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Also Sony will utilize Qualcomm's chip on the new phones instead of MediaTek SoCs. As for the specs, the Xperia XA2 is said to have 5.2-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 630 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and 21MP/8MP rear & front cameras. The Xperia XA2 Ultra is expected to come with 6-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 630 chip, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage 21MP rear camera and 16MP dual selfie cameras. Both will boot Android Oreo.
The Xperia L2 will be an entry-level phone and is expected to sport 5.2-inch HD display and ship with Android Nougat. Unfortunately, the specs of this model is unknown.
According to Blass the Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra and Xperia L2 will be introduced at CES 2018 Las Vegas next week or at MWC, Barcelona in February.
