Vivo Releases List Of Devices It Will Be Updating To Oreo
Vivo is the fifth largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Considering the large user base Vivo has to cater to, one would expect Vivo to be great at software updates, however the company's performance (in software updates) has been subpar.
Google released the stable version of Oreo in August last year. Now after nearly six months, Vivo has announced the devices it will be updating to Oreo. Disappointingly, none of the mid-range smartphones the company released last year have made it to the list.
Vivo will be updating the following devices to Oreo:
- Vivo X20
- Vivo X20 Plus
- Vivo X9s
- Vivo X9s Plus
- Vivo X9
- Vivo X9 Plus
- Vivo Xplay6
The update will come in the form of FunTouch OS - Vivo's skinned version of Android. Vivo will be releasing test builds of Oreo for the aforementioned devices on its forums. The community feedback will then be used to improve Oreo based FunTouch OS. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is targeting mid-April for rolling out the stable update to all the users.
