Xiaomi Will Release A New Phone In India On February 14, Will Most Likely Be Redmi Note 5

Xiaomi has sent out media invites for a "Redmi Product Launch" on February 14 in New Delhi, India. The invite has a colored "5" written on it, which hints that Xiaomi may either launch the Redmi 5 or Redmi Note 5.

Xiaomi has also updated its website with a teaser page for the launch event on Valentine's Day. When I viewed the page source of the launch event, I found "redminote5" mentioned numerous times. This leads me to believe that Xiaomi will be launching the Redmi Note 5 next week. Although Xiaomi hasn't released an official statement on which Redmi device it will be launching, this is the closest we can get to an official confirmation on the launch of the Redmi Note 5. The page source code also mentions statements such as "The wait is finally over" and "Presenting the all rounder #GiveMe5", which further emphasizes that the launch device will be the Redmi Note 5.

The page source code also consists of the terms "Select Version", which means that like the Redmi Note 4, the Redmi Note 5 will be available in more than one variant. I'm guessing that the variants will be similar to that of the Redmi Note 4, that is, there will be a model with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, another with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and the costliest variant will have 4GB RAM with 64GB storage.

As per various leaks, the Redmi Note 5 will have a 5.7-inch 1080p LCD 18:9 display, Snapdragon 636, 4000mAh battery, 12MP + 5MP dual cameras at the back, 8MP selfie shooter, a rear mounted fingerprint scanner, headphone jack, support for expandable storage, and Nougat 7.1.2 based MIUI 9.
