Motorola Moto G6 Plus Might Rock Snapdragon 660 According To The GeekBench Details

It has been a while since Motorola released a new device. The launch of the new G-series smartphones is on the horizon and speculations have been going rife about the upcoming phones. According to leaks, the Moto G6 Plus will be running the Snapdragon 630, but if we are to go by the new details from GeekBench, there's a twist in the tale. The Moto G6 Plus has now been spotted running on the Snapdragon 660.

The Moto G6 Plus just stopped by GeekBench and to the surprise of everyone, the benchmark details show it as running the Snapdragon 660. Interestingly, the Moto X4 was also spotted running a Snapdragon 660, but as we know, it is powered by a Snapdragon 630. Same was the case with the HTC  U11 Life. The GeekBench listings are no confirmation of a device's specifications, so take them with a grain of salt.

Other rumored specifications of the G6 Plus include a 5.93" Max Vision (it's not clear what that means) screen, 4/6GB RAM variants along with 32/64GB Internal Storage respectively. As for the camera, the device will have a 12+5MP shooter at the back. The battery is supposed to be somewhere between 3000-3500mAh. The G6 Plus will be released with Android Oreo 8.0.0.

The fact that the G6 Plus will be released with Oreo means it will support Project Treble. At the time of confirmation of the Oreo update for the G4 Plus, Motorola said that the G-series smartphones are meant for only one major Android update. It will therefore be interesting to see whether Motorola will increase the number of major updates for the G6, given that Treble makes it easier for manufacturers to update a device.

The Moto G6 Plus was supposed to launch at the Mobile World Congress in February but its launch got postponed to April. The sixth generation G-series smartphones will now be announced in Brazil on April 19.
