OperaVPN To Be Discontinued On April 30

VPNs have emerged as an answer to the woes of censorship and privacy concerns. In 2016, Opera introduced its free VPN application for mobile operating systems, and over the course of the last two years, OperaVPN has established itself as one of the most popular virtual private network (VPN) for Android and iOS. After an excellent run of two years, Opera has now announced that it will be drawing curtains to its VPN application for mobile on April 30.

Opera is recommending its users to shift to SurfEasy. It's worth noting that Opera once owned SurfEasy, but ended up selling it to Norton AntiVirus maker Symantec Corporation in 2017. OperaVPN users who bought the Gold plan can redeem a free one-year subscription to SurfEasy Ultra VPN. The redemption can be done from within the OperaVPN iOS application.  Even if you aren't a user of the Gold plan, you will be able to get a discount of 80% on the Total plan of SurfEasy. The discount can be availed by buying SurfEasy Total from the OperaVPN application for Android or iOS.

The above rates are of monthly packs. For annual plans, SurfEasy Total costs $3.99/month and Ultra costs $6.49/month

SurfEasy offers a total of three plans - Starter, Total and Ultra. The foremost plan is free to use and allows for 500MB data consumption across five devices. The Total plan runs across as many devices as the Starter plan, and also offers unlimited data along with tracker blocking at a cost of $3.99/month. SurfEasy Ultra is the priciest of the lot, but includes the most number of features. Ultra has all of the features of SurfEasy Total, and includes protection for downloading torrents, in addition, to support for a dozen more countries.
