OxygenOS 5.1.1 Stable OTA Released For OnePlus 5/5T With Fixes For Ringtone & Notification Sound

A few weeks back, OnePlus rolled out Android 8.1 based OxygenOS 5.1.0 to the OnePlus 5 and 5T. After updating to OOS 5.1.0, several users on the OnePlus forums reported of experiencing issues where the ringtone didn't play during an incoming call. In some cases, the notification tone didn't go off when a notification arrived. OnePlus is now pushing out OxygenOS 5.1.1 fixing the mentioned issues.

The changelog provided by OnePlus on its forums doesn't mention the hotfix, but the fix for notification sound and ringtones is mentioned on the update screen. We have therefore added the hotfix to the list of changes provided by OnePlus. Here's the complete changelog.

Apparently, OnePlus pulled the OxygenOS 5.1.0 update after the ringtone and notification sound issues were discovered. Several users on the OnePlus forums claimed that they didn't receive the OOS 5.1.0 update and are now getting the OOS 5.1.1 update.

If your OnePlus 5/5T is running an older version of stable OxygenOS, you would soon be getting an update notification of OxygenOS 5.1.1. In case you are using the beta version of OxygenOS, you wouldn't be getting the stable update. To install the stable update, you will have to manually flash the stable update using the links given below. Please note that in the process of moving from the beta program to stable builds, all of your data will get erased. So, make a backup before proceeding.
