Google Assistant Will Be Available In 7 New Voices, Including John Legend's
Voice is an integral part of Assistant, and Google is working on making the Assistant sound more natural and more human-like. Today at I/O, Google announced that the Assistant will be available in seven new voices, including that of singer John Legend.
Assistant's current voice is codenamed after its voice artist Holly. Google says that Holly spent months in the recording studio and the recordings were then combined to create Assistant's voice.
For the seven new voices, though, the voice artists spent a limited time in the recording studio and their voices were stitched together by AI-powered WaveNet.

Leaving out John Legend, the six other voices will be available later today in the Google app and Google Home. The voice of John Legend will be available on Assistant later this year in "certain contexts". You can check out the video embedded above to listen to the six new voices.
