You Will Soon Be Able To Have A 'Continued Conversation' With Assistant
Google is trying to make conversing with Assistant more like humans. A few minutes back, Google announced that the Assistant will be available in six new voices, and now the company has announced that consumers will soon be able to perform 'multiple actions' with the Assistant.
As the name implies, multiple actions involves giving several commands to the Assistant at the same time. So, in a single command, you can ask the Assistant to play a Baseball game on YouTube TV and dim the lights. Google says that it uses a technique known as 'coordination reduction' to identify multiple commands in a query. Support for multiple actions is rolling out right now.
In addition to multiple actions, Google stated that the Assistant will soon have support for a 'continued conversation'. The user will be able to talk to Assistant and another person at the same time and the Assistant will automatically discern when it is being talked to. The aim of a 'continued conversation' is to ensure that the consumer doesn't have to make special effort to speak to the Assistant. To make the conversation more natural, Google is working on making the Assistant better so that the user dosn't have to speak the hotword (OK Google or Hey Google) every time. Continued conversation will be coming to the Assistant in "coming weeks".
