Bootleggers v2.3 Released With Clock Styles, Gesture Anywhere & More
The team behind Bootleggers has released a new update to its ROM. Continuing with the use of musical codenames, Bootleggers v2.3 is labelled after the song Everybody Shut Up by NSP. This release of Bootleggers adds several features including clock styles, lock screen fonts and gesture anywhere.
In addition to the above-mentioned features, Slim Recents and animation settings have now made a return. Slim Recents was initially included in v2.2, but after it was found to be causing battery drain and heating issues, it was removed. In v2.3, all the issues caused by Slim Recents have been fixed. There are several bug fixes too which improve the user interface and the overall performance of the ROM.
With v2.3, the Bootleggers team has included 'Log It' which makes it much easier for users to take and send logs. Developed by AICP, the log it option can be found in the ROM settings. This feature will automatically collect the requisite logs, and then either send them as a ZIP file or post them to hastebin.
Since its launch in February, Bootleggers has grown a lot. In v2.1 of the ROM, seven devices were supported. Bootleggers v2.3 will be available for more than three times the devices, that is, over 20 devices will be supported. The download links can be found in the source. If your device supports Project Treble, you can install the generic system image of v2.3 from here.
For the future releases of the ROM, the Bootleggers team is planning to rebase their code to AOSP. They also plan on forming a 'testing group' to try out the builds with the new base. More information will be shared regarding this in the coming weeks.
